a lot of detail got lost when i burned the screens...had to burn the one with the birds like three times and still you couldn't see the eyes of them. had to draw those in with colored pencil.
and you burn them with flash bulbs, $15 for a pack of 10, you need two per burn... and you can't reuse the screens, they're disposable. i mean, it's peanuts, but it adds up.

can you print on a long strip of paper.. like if you made a book cover or something with the front being the same size as your prints?
- GreedoLives0
yeah, shouldn't be a problem. but if you do something like that and want to use more than one screen/color, you're gonna have to figure out some sort of system for registration.
- MLP0
yeah.. it seems like i could do some sort of guide on the machine somewhere.

(Oct 12 06, 09:52)what is a gocco? this is the third time ive seen in in the ntpe thread and i just first thonght its innernet slang but seeing it in a sentace by others now makes me feel like i need to know...
wat is gocco?

the gocco is a Japanese mini silkscreen machine. the coolest part about it is that you burn your screens from a laser print or xerox copy. it is vurtually mess free. i love mine - I did a gocco print for NTPE1 - i will see if i have any left for ya - E

thanx spence, i would never have guessed its a machine...so its small then...or does it do other sizes/??
ive done screen printing only in college over 10 years ago and i remember it being messy and stinky.
and ridicously expensive for screen and the emulsion...is it done differently?the air-ship paper is really cool, is that a gocco paper or just regualr cool shiny trees?
*sparks a joint for all those that dont have one right now!!!
:)

I have the smallest one that does 4x6. there is one that is bigger, but i have never seen it. The screens are made specifically for the gocco and there is a flap of plastic that keeps the on the screen so no mess. Ihave wasted a bit of material, but it is insignificant based on the outcome.
You can use whatever material you want - i have used thin sheets of balsa wood and mounted them - pretty frikkin cool.

seff, got the tube today, looks great!
e-pill, i went to paper source and got a bunch of different postcard sized paper; one of them was a metallic. printing on that actually didn't work that well, the ink didn't take too good and it slid around a bit.
i've printed on bigger than postcard sized before with the gocco ( http://www.gocco.com/prod.HTM ), but had massive alignment troubles cause i'm not so smart that way and didn't figure out some elaborate system beforehand.

personally i think i'd get annoyed working with that, being used to working with big screens. it looks so tiny!
