right, probably 13x19, I did a few prints in between print exchanges.
I am almost done with the art on another one for 8.5x11. 80's hiphop #2.

folks rave when they see your prints, dobs. i point 'em to your site.
guy i work with was just telling me today how much he likes your gil scott heron print.
- mrdobolina0
that's so cool to hear, brian.
- blaw0
well deserved, sir.
it would be cool if you got some sales from it.
- mrdobolina0
I sold a ton of the billie holliday prints. a few on the rundmc's and quite a few of the charlie parker's.
I get 3-5 emails a week asking about the miles davis prints, those were limited to like 50 units and I told myself I wasnt going to do anymore of them. I could be clocking some serious extra money if I did though. damn.

so dobs, do you want 1 for your own??
:)
- mrdobolina0

Yeah, I love the Miles print.

question for you dobs. what are the implications for someone making money from an artist rendition of people's likeness, like what you are doing? I have often thought about what is fair use and at what point could there be legal action. Like how did warhol get away with it?
- mrdobolina0
I am sure it is illegal, but in the volume I am doing it and the fact that I am trading/giving most away I am not very worried about much more than a cease and desist letter.

I am interested in this too. Like Rauschenberg using published images in his work. I think the laws may have been more lax back then. I have generally heard that you will just get a cease and desist to which you say it was a small run and I am out anyway. What are the laws of using others image in artwork that is for fun vs for profit?

How does Shepherd Fairey get away with it?
- e-pill0
he can run like no ones business!!!
- mrdobolina0
nah I mean the posters of famous people? Do you think he just doesn't give a shit?
- spendogg0
not too sure about the andre the giant thing? i am sure that if someone is in charge of his estate they probably have contacted him by now.
- mrdobolina0
yeah but he has done slick rick, public enemy and all sorts of other people. what do you think? I'm just curious really, I am not going to change any of my habits.
- Seff0
fuckin sue everybody
- GreedoLives0
but shepard fairey does it similar to you, dobs, limited runs which he charges peanuts for (last i checked they were around $20-$25).
i'm sure if someone gets pissed off, he'll just quietly disappear the poster off the sales rack and go out and paste them up at night.

900!! :)
