Get the A4. It is the only Audi recommended by Consumer Reports. Period. All else are very unreliable and prone to shittiness.

A4:
The agile A4 has a nicely detailed interior and a firm yet compliant ride. The front seats are comfortable, but the rear is cramped. The 3.2-liter V6 is quiet and delivers power readily. The noisy 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine feels coarse and is hesitant from a stop with AWD and the automatic. Midrange power is strong. The optional six-speed automatic shifts smoothly, as does the optional continuously variable transmission. The A4 Avant wagon is stylish but not spacious. A convertible is available. Crash-test results for the sedan are excellent.Audi A6:
The A6 comes as a luxury sedan or a wagon. Handling is responsive and secure. The ride is firm yet comfortable, but it is no match for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Available AWD provides good snow traction. The 3.2-liter V6 and six-speed automatic transmission make for a strong, polished powertrain. Fuel economy is relatively good. The seats are excellent, and the interior is well finished and filled with nice details. The MMI control system with integrated audio and navigation controls is annoying, with some simple functions requiring multiple steps. Crash-test results are excellent, but first-year reliability is disappointing.Audi S4
Audi's S4 is a high-performance version of the A4. Power comes from a smooth 340-hp, 4.2-liter V8 engine that drives all four wheels. A six-speed manual transmission is standard; a six-speed automatic optional. In our tests, we found the ride stiff but not punishing, unlike other sports cars. Handling is quite capable, but the S4 understeers a bit too much at its limits. Audi says it is adjusting the torque bias to reduce this. The interior is well-finished and nicely appointed. The power-operated leather Recaro racing-style seats are supportive and comfortable. Wagon and convertible versions are available. Crash-test results for the sedan are excellent. The S4 is less reliable than the A4.

jox- i am suprised you went with the supercharger on the 2.8- they are renoun time bombs. which make charger are you running? did you have Mihnea tune it for you by chance?

(Jun 3 06, 16:13)It's not the 2.8, it's the 4.2 V8 and I went with Hohenester. Pretty small tuner but amazing talent and I couldn't be more happy. Car pulls super strong from 1k rpm and when it hits 3k it just explodes. I swear to god I could make 4 wheel burnouts going 90 mph if I turn ESP off. ^_^
Pics of teh new RS beast are coming as soon as I take delivery. Can't wait!

ahhhh, my mistake there for sure- a supercharged 4.2 is a whole 'nother story! :)
Hohenester is a really good tuner and i know a couple of cars tuned by them. that is great it is such a complete drive. i also know what you mean by the 4 wheel burnouts oh too well. i have a friend who's last Audi was a 2.8 A4 supercharged and while that thing was a timebomb waiting to explode, the thing pulled like no other all the way through the rpm cycle. getting on the highway @ 90 was just a joke and there were many 4 wheel burns on city streets w/ jokers who thought their tuned Civic was a match. :)

Shit, I just drove an S4 Sedan. Damn! Even though I can only imagine RS4, but I had A BLAST driving an S4. The sales guy was like Boz take it easy dude you'll get raped by cops. :)
HUGE difference in performance between sedan and convertible. And a 6spd manual is SWEET. God I missed that.
I've decided. S4 it is. Black on black fully loaded with simpler MMI version and navi. It's an awesome car.
- madirish0
awesome.
while i for one am saddened by the departure of a turbo charged s-car, the neuNeuS4 is sweet as hell. and nice ditching the cabriolet- they are wuss ;)
black on black is sick and i would seriously pee on the person that ordered an automatic S4.
enjoy!
