External HD suggestion

i'm picking that up in a few weeks. i have had the acomdata minipal for almost over a year. i have no problems with their products so far.

2 maxtors died ... now on LaCie with no troubles yet

Sorry to break it to you, but if you open your LaCie drive, you will find a Maxtor inside.

Lacie also uses western digital
the larger drives seem to be WD and the smaller, MAXTOR

So I guess 250GB is considered small these days..
I need to get myself a 1TB HD to keep my ego above water..

i was just going off some articles i read through google
i have 2 250 internals and 1 maxtor 80gb external (that failed within 1 year just sitting on my desk and taking 2 trips to cali)

get internal drives in external cases. period. all else is problematic. sorry if i didn't read other posts.

well, I've had tons of Maxtors that get pushed hard every day, never did one fail.
WD is the only drive I've ever had fail.
Go read the reviews. Everyone on here is very biased. I love the back up softare Maxtor comes with and you can get great deals (I just bought another 200gig drive for $120).
