Please don't quote my previous entry out of context.

I have the occasional rubbing, so I would say I'm flexible ^_^

are you that flexible with car tyres also?

I had a PB 15" before and have a PB 17" now. I carry it around everywhere, everyday and I honestly can't tell the diff between 15 and 17 in terms of portability. It's a few inches, really.

no more than £750.

i do not understand people who love 17 laptops. correct me if i am wrong but the whole point of a laptop is portability. last thing i want to do is lug that huge thing around.
just get a monitor for home use, and a SMALL laptop for easy portability.

You will never regret going 17". It's absolutely fucking fantastic.

Size matters with screens. Don't consider a 15" despite how many people will tell you to.
I have almost the same model, 1gHz processor. The hard thing to swallow is that a G4 is the third fastest processor you can get in a Mac. (except that Photoshop is slower on an Intel Mac than a G5)

I am looking to replace my desktop pc so will be mostly be using photoshop. I'm not planning on carrying it around everywere, I'm looking more at a laptop I can use in the house at the kitchen table or coffee table instead of my tiny office room.

mac book pro probably as fast as that? don't quote me on it.

I wouldn't pay any more than what its at now personally, have you actually seen the 17"? they are enormous. I would look into the price of 15" and check out and compare the new macbook pro, what specs do you need, whats it for?

I'm looking at switching to a mac and I saw this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISA…
As I'm not a mac type I'm no sure what would be a reasonable max bid for such a machine?
Any figure I should avoid going over?
Cheers!
