Hi everyone,
I’m working on a logo for a company that helps develop Indian gaming casinos in the Northwest – Montana, etc. Its owned by a Native American woman and most of the employees are Native American. Anyway, the company’s name is Indigenous Development Corporation (IDC).
I went for the feather because I thought it fit in with the whole Native American thing – while still trying to keep it corporate.

Feather idea is perfect, but not sure if that's the right feather. It's not saying 'native american' to me at all, not sure how important that is to you or the client...

I agree, maybe make the feather more authentic looking or play off the type how one side is rounded and the other goes into a point. Maybe work it more into the type, but I would lose the lines under the feather, I get it's for motion but it reminds me too much of the whole sprint/nextel thing - especially in yellowish looking one. Good start though has great potential.

yeah... i need to look at some images of feathers. i didnt have a chance to yesterday (no internet) - so that was just from my head.
I was also thinking about dropping the feather and using an eagle in there instead. it represents "leadership" in indian culture..... the company goes on & on about their leadership capabilities in the summary I was handed.

i agree feather is too cute, specially combined with lowercase and the colorschemes.
maybe add some angled breaks in the feather and/ or give it a 2-tone style, like an eagle's.

its a nice logo, but the feather needs to be more..ya know..native american. otherwise, keep the typeface and go with it!

nice mark! Make the feather a bit more like, 'Native America'. It's a bit cute and round. Look at the feathers used in the Chicago Blackhawks logo for inspiration.

nice direction so far, stick with the feather. isnt an eagle also distinctly not native american?

I really like it, but I'd have to agree with everyone else about the feather being too cute. Seems like it's from Tweedy bird ot something.
I think if you just change that it should be fine. I also liked that you used autumn colours for the bgs.
