glossy screen!? you heard it here first. this feature will blow and will be changed. i've seen some HPs that have a glossy screen and it looks like shit. can't even see anything if there is a shred of day light around.
buy em up;..... hahahahahaha

yeah that does sound like a consumer dumb blonde feature "oooh its awl shiney steve, I want one I want one it matches the car!"

(May 16 06, 06:44)isnt that why ppl buy macs anyways?
- rafalski0

- nooner0

--Mac as a status symbol is not just vanity, it can be a part of your professional image. You want the client to think "oh, this guy knows the modern hip techy stuff".
A friend of mine who is a wedding photographer says it's harder to keep high prices with a silver camera. The clients won't consider you as "pro" if you don't have a black one with a big lens and a big flash.

they do seem to appear to increase the contrast of colours though.
I like em, but I'm going to rock my old skool black powerbook as my portable. untill next year anyway ;)

--They do _imitate_ the experience, not reproduce it.

that is very true. if you are in creative business, and you say are using a PC, ppl say "WHY!" and look at you funny in a way that you are no longer a creative

Now my black pismo looks modern again! (with an upside down apple logo)

wow, like the black one ...
the white one looks a bit freaky with the black hole (remote control acceptor) on the right front :-(

---Haha.. Just today I wrote about people using their macs at offf.bcn last week everywhere around the area, with faces as if they were doing something far more important than yh-ing :)
Macs and macs only. I saw one non-mac when browsing pics afterwards at home and was surprised.I know a doctor in Germany who runs his own small orthopaedic clinic. He says he can't drive anything but a mercedes benz to work. His son can drive a bmw, but it would hurt his professional image if he drove one himself. BMW is too dynamic, mercedes speaks stability.

i always say, as a designer or in creative field (including programming), its not what use or how trendy your office looks like, its what you produce that matters.
example. subdisc, dont use or own a mac but that doesnt stop him from producing great work
- rafalski0
I never said otherwise dinky, the only mac thing I've had is an ipod bought cheap used :)
btw, there are nice mb pro deals in the us refurbished store
- chameleonic0
Tis true. I remember when starting out using the PC I had when leaving college and a business advice mentor said 'I thought you'd be more of a mac guy'. Of course if I could have afforded one I would be!
Since then though I have joined the gang - but admittedly the macs I use are usually second hand.
God, I must seem like such a pauper

i use mac and pc. they sit beside each other.
both have pro's and con's.
you just look more like a pro on a mac. ; )
