just did my resume / please let me know if it'll work out or what i need to change, tweak or delete. i'm a web developer moving back to new england (usa) from the south west. much appreciation in advance. ps: i stole the resume layout from Michael Giesser's CV it was simple and i was inspired (so thanks man -> http://www.blueprintmedia.ca/)
my resume here -> http://www.lovemypeople.com/quin…

so you want us to critique Michael's design, or your actual resume? A bit odd to request a crit on someone else's layout right?
no that I mind really – it's a straight Swiss gridded 4 col layout, and it's nice and clean...one recommendation would be to use a color for the headers...something so that the eye can easily jump to different columns without getting confused as to what's what. 4 columns is a lot on a Letter page, but you always score points for something a little bit different

it's a bit tight on the right margin compared to the left as well.
and the headers "languages" and "teaching experience" are the ones that need to be pulled out more... the spacing between those headers and their copy are far too different than the distances across the top
these are all little typographic nit picks, but if you take this Swiss stylistic approach, the typography and organization has to be flawless.

Yeah, it's a bit boring and cramped for me, and more colour and white space.
Let's hope Snuggles doesn't have a Copyright on his design ;)

one word for you: Leading!

Two more words:
Hyphenation
Widows
- Baskerville0
oh, and 2 more: line length

We could go on I fear...
For 3 years experience you really need to brush up on your typography

were you in the Simpsons?
Poor joke, but i'm from the UK and whenever i see Springfield, think of the simpsons
as you were
Also, an "a" before a vowel needcs to become an "an" and vise versa
- Beeachboy0
Also - why the break in the line at the top?
I prefer 3rd person as well - leave "I"'s and "Me"'s out of it!
- Beeachboy0
Also (I'm bored of me too), this is preference, but you spend a bit of time in each time, and it seems like you only do one thing in each job!? Expand, but don't bore!
- Dancer0
Beachboy do you really think you should write in the 3rd person? FOr a personal statement I feel it workd better in the 1st. I know you "meant" to but I'm all up for rue breaking
- johndiggity0
3 columns. 8-12 words per line. should help your ragging issues. and yes, lead it out.
- Beeachboy0
I do Dancer - but as i say personal preference.
I deal with IT CV's more and send them to corporates and i just think it's more professional - but of course the design world is very different, so my personal pref could be wrong in this instance!

yeah i can work on the layout and type a little (thanks for that) but i was more interested in the grammer and content of the document. I a wed developer not a graphic designer :P / but thanks for the comments / anyone can assist me in the content of the document / any web developers out there or programmers.

there's a fine line bet/ inspired and just plain ripping. You need to cross the line
- MrMackem0
I crossed that line last night.

Even if you're not so into typography, the resume should be easy to read. the font is hard to read, makes it seem more condensed, and i agree it definitely needs more leading.
