I used to have one of these...
Until it got stolen from outside my flat, Bastards. Great way to travel in a busy city.
Get one of these, 200 cc, fast as fook and a real design classic...
But yes, Vespa's are shite.

i had a vespa douglas 1971
it had no indicators haha.
Great for in the summer but shit for the rest of the year .....if you live in the uk.

I am sorry, but why do people buy these? Aren't they like $4k new? You can get a nice motorcycle for that price, which, I'd guess, is a little safer (better brakes, requires actually learning to ride on the street, etc.).
Just perplexing. If they are only $1500 new, I can understand, if not them companies are making a TON of profit!!

Thanks to all that had something worth while to say and some of the insightful commentary. There are a few links in here that have been very useful. As for the camera, it was a 20d with 50mm/1.4 lens.

okay okay. scooters are just the gayest fucking thing ever. this is why the euros love them. they are a bunch of ponces (scots excluded, the germans are just gross). they lisp and are snooty. the good ones would be more than honored to suck my dick. send one attractive american male over there and the euro chicks would get mouth pregnant from all the dick they'd be sucking. the english didn't import slaves so much as they imported new genes for the quagmire of evolution that they call an island. I would get in every monster bush over there within a fortnight.

i got a 81 honda c70 delux.
i think its way cooler than a vespa, but the old vespas are super nice, im not to into the newer lookn ones

they are an icon like the mini and the beetle. none of these cars are fast or sporty but they are cool as hell.

Scooters are possibly the best way to get around a city, although a supermoto is faster and more fun.
Most scooters come with a restricter in the pipe. If yours has one go get it derestricted and it will be way more snappy and have a better top speed.
