Yes, my dear Kuz, two can play at that game.
Why did all the intelligence services in the world believe Saddam had WMD's? You didn't fall for it Must have been some sort of conspiricy, eh?
Again read the Dulfer Report. No, the actual document, not the Guardian's interpretation of it.
Again, address Al Qaeda affilated group Ansar al -Islam and Zarqarwi's prenence in Iraq before the invasion. Repeatedly, saying something isn't true doesn't make it so, no matter how many times you repeat it.
Saddam was "contained" under the "watchful eye" of the UN? That's too funny. You are quite a character my friend. No further comment is necessary.
I am not advocating more Iraqs. Whether the enterprise succeeds or fails in changing the political culture of the Islamic world will determine it would be attempted again. If it fails and another atrocity like 9/11 occurs, I am afraid there will be little appetite for nation-building.
The Iraqi's who have risked their lives joining the security services and voting and the Coalition soldiers fighting against the jihadis and Baathists should be ashamed of themselves for being deluded pawns of American imperialism. Perhaps you should fly over there and set them all straight since only you know the real, underlying motives, not the people on the ground living and dying for a lie.

iraq? old story.
i'm digging in for the war on iran.

You better. Because it's coming.

i gotta go home now, but just say this -
I too fell for it. I was also convinced Iraq had WMDs. But we have learnt since of the massive scale of political pressure that was applied to Intelligent services to exagerate the threat. Second of all, we saw at the UN the pitiful evidence that Colin Powell presented, that convinced no one there. If the intelligence services was so convinved - why was Colin Powell's speech so lamentably unconvinceable?
Also Ansar al-Islam is certainly not an Al-Qaeda affiliated group, as such (any more than Hamas is one). It was formed in 2001 as a Kurdish islamist group, indiginous to Iraq to fight the PUK. If Saddam did give them support, it was only because they were fighting his enemmies - the PUK. They certainly were not involved in the Al Qaeda style global jihad against the US on US territory. Thats the lie Bush was talking about - that Saddam was intentionally sponsoring terrorists to attack US soil. Also if Zarqawi was allowed into Iraq, this was well after 9/11, and had more to do with Saddam's realisation that the US was hell bent on war against his country that Iraq's allegiance to Jihadism. Iraq didn't used to be a hotbed of Jihadism, but after the US invasion, it has now become one. Well done on that.
Also, incredulity is a pretty lame argument. You said Iraq was like Rwanda and Darfur, UN resolutions, and no-fly zones had maintained for over a decade that this was not the case.
And again, stop putting words into my mouth. I highly commend all those Iraqis who have joined in the voting process, and sincerely hope that Iraq emerges as a free, democratic, prosperous and SECULAR state. I wont hold my breath tho.
You are really clutching at straws and your relentless disceptation is getting on my tits. Just put me on jihad-watch already and be done with it :).

Save the persecution complex for somebody who cares. You probably wrote that last post in a hurry so I will be kind and not respond to all the inaccuracies and obfuscations.
Just to reply to some of the misinformed assertions here:
Again, read the Dulfer Report.
Hopefully we will find how the CIA got that intellengence so lametably wrong or was blindsided by Saddam, Syria, and Russia. Perhaps the end of the Baathist regime in Syria will shed some light on the whole affair one day.
Ansar al-Islam is indeed affilated with Al Qaeda. Some evidence:
1. Provided an entry point for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and other Afghan veterans to enter Iraq.
2. Contacts with al-Qaida allegedly stretch back to 1989 and include regular recruiting visits by bin Laden cadres to Kurdish refugee camps in Iran and to northern Iraq, as well as a journey by senior Ansar leaders to meet al-Qaida chiefs in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in the summer of 2000.
3.According to a report in the Christian Science Monitor, new details on Ansar al-Islam’s connections with al-Qaida were provided by the interrogation of Rafid Ibrahim Fatah, an Iraqi Arab currently held by the PUK. Fatah was interviewed by the magazine’s reporter at a PUK security complex in Sulaymaniyah. He said that the group had received money once from Abu Qatada, a London cleric linked to bin Ladin’s European network. He also reported that an Ansar delegation had met with Mohammed Atef, alias Abu Hafas al-Masri, bin Ladin’s military chief, but that bin Ladin rarely met personally with such groups.
...and it goes on.
Saddam let Zarqawi into Irap only because he knew war with the US was imminent. That's a good one. No further comment is necessary. You still haven't addressed the santuary given to the 1993 WTC bomber. Kinda wrecks the "no terrorists in Iraq before the invasion myth" doesn't it.
I'm happy, my scimitar welding friend, to see you wish Iraq will turn into a "free, democratic, prosperous and SECULAR state". Well, if it does, it will be certainly be so in spite of people like you. It will be so because of Coalition soldiers, both dead and alive, and the bravery and fortitude of the majority of the Iraqi people.
