I'm a little disappointed that it isn't going faster (in terms of story, such as Gambit's appearance, Rogue's powers that she acquires later on, etc.). I keep looking at all the directors that passed this film, and they all seemed amazing.
However, the second film was great, so I'm hoping this one will be too.

And it helps that most of the actors and actresses do a decent job of portraying their characters.
I was looking forward to the comic book adaptation even before the first movie came out, compared to other films, such as the actors in the new Superman, who aren't people I would've liked. Of course, I'll have to see the film before commenting further.
Kevin Spacey as Lex seems okay, but even that seems weird just b/c of the age difference between Clark and Lex.
In terms of X-Men, every character except Rogue seems right.

I haven't gone to the movies since 2004, but I might go see this once since I remember liking part 2 so much...then again i wind up saying i'm going to see a lot of movies.

I'm a big dork and admittedly I get giggly whenever comic adaptations come out, but there is an obvious line between brilliant and entertaining (despite faithfulness to the original source)
Entertaining - Hulk, Punisher (1989 NOT 2004), Tank Girl, Spider-Man, Blade
Brilliant - Ghost World, A History of Violence, Sin City
Somewhere in between - Batman Begins , V for Vendetta, X-Men
You also have to consider that alot of these 'big blockbusters' that are coming out are adaptations of golden and silver age material, where morals and hero/villain archetypes are easily defined. Just because this is the case doesn't mean they should be so easily dismissed as bad storytelling.

they're comic book adaptations. i think the movies have done a pretty good job of reproducing the excitement i felt as a kid reading the comics. only this time it's with a much more complex medium.
there's a huge difference between a comic book and a philip k. dick novel; i think that would only be the same w/ the films themselves.

they shot a scene in the building. the one where the mutants are being led into the asylum, with the protesters going nuts. got to hang out with rogue.
she's hot

Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), and Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat) are all Canadian. Lots of youngsters are always picked up around the area of shooting, which I believe was BC.
