LSD Problem!

To those who have LSD monitors, please help... I have a LaCie319, and i just noticed some greenish\blueish blurred sort of line closer to the top of my monitor. It's noticeable if you set your background color to #a0a0a4 (light gray).
I talked to LaCie techSupport and they told me that ALL LSD monitors have that. I don't know if they're bullshitting me or is it something i just don't know.
Please help me to figure out who's right. If you can, set your monitor to a0a0a4 and see if it's there.
If it's not, im gonna have to demand the refund or something, because they don't sound like they're going to fix it for me.
It's ridiculous because the monitor costs $1,200 and it's aimed to "graphic design professionals who work with color all the time".

probably an issue with uneven backlighting. I don't think there's much you can do to get past it... most LCD's suffer to some degree.
either learn to live with it, or track down a good CRT (hard to find these days)
Why Lacie got rid of their electron line is beyond me...
maybe Sony/Mitsubishi stopped making the tubes?
