i think a more personlized creative apporach is what'll happen to design areas once the ideas and creativity runs out at the large firms...then a few folks and their ideas will make it huge and become trendy as fuck and the big companies will it all up again...and so on.

dispalys are only getting better and bigger.
the objective is still the same,
"make the client memorable and glow in positive light without over complication"

People seem to be not using avid editors anymore with final cut on everyones laptop. Think that's really hurting editorial/motion graphics shops. should they be kept seperate?

motion graphics should go in the opposite direction of what the public as a whole is feeling emotionally. these days people are either jaded or scared shitless about the state of world events. they should either get people interested in their surroundings or put into a state of calm. the reason apple stores are so succesful is because they both sooth and make people think. they are like a logical, futuristic utne reader.

(Apr 18 06, 13:13)Huh? What do you mean?
A real agency isn't going to some schmuck with Final Cut on a laptop. They don't care if someone's on an Avid or FCP.
They go to real editors at established shops. So if some of them are integrating editorial with vfx, well that's the market. Smart move on the part of those shops.
Editorial houses like Lost Planet are doing just fine.

The Future of Motion Graphics... I think you'll find that the big shops will always hire the small shops when they are tapping for talent...

Screw it, I was talking about advertising as a whole. Interest is easiest sparked by using contrast. Throwing shit against a wall is a crap shoot. This seems best for big brands. Small, one-off products should just shout loud enough in a smart enough, creative manner. What's everyone think?

Expansion on viral marketing will probably be the larger picture of advertising for a while.
Either that, or other mediums/channels specifically designed to overcome saturation.

yeah, people like to be shocked, embedding it into their daily thoughts. how long do you think people will buy things off of sheer shock value? like that fucking burger king monster? people will have to shake it off at some point. you think they will?
