Why the hard-on for Media Temple?

Everyone is so proud of their media temple hosting why is this? do they send you a super cool little membership package to make you think you're part of an elite club? Do they have unbelievable customer support? Anyone have insight and/or an MT account?

Yeah i guess i was giving too much credit to those that boast (mt) accounts, thought the design-types that have said accounts would see through transparent marketing ploys better than your run of the mill AOL subscriber,

Their brand was always aimed at design community, it pays now. I guess at first they gave hosting to the best just for logo presence, now everyone is proud to display it for free.

i think they might have a referral thing so that if someone signs up with them after clicking through from your website, you might get some money off each month or something.
