g3kk0k1d, adsense generates millions of $ each week for sites, so theres a fair amount o ppl using it. maybe there not as savy as you and I but in the big picture we are the minority

google is just trying to expand its reach. They are an ad delivery company. With headlines like this in the news, "Google Inc. to Acquire dMarc Broadcasting." They are starting to expand into other ad delivering venues. They've got the money, they've got a great work culture, they can get the talent that will allow them to do things better. Which is what people want.
Why did you start using google? Because the search was better!

'ad delivering venues' is just it...i'm wondering ultimatly if there's something more to their technology and ideas and great work culture than just to deliver marketing...what are their main revenue sources anyway?

all I know is that people are psyched about google because it gives them hope that the dotcom age will come back and stay. This is obvious.
also, they're biting at apple's cult status, except they're friendly rather than holy. All it comes down to is their logo and the happy shiny umpah lompahs whom they saved from the doldrums and would bleed for the place. Once it slows down, merging with yahoo would be badass.
I've had the same dynamic carry out in my own life. I am still experiencing mastubatory afterglow 20 minutes after the deed. I will end up hating my hand job within the hour. I will likely get bored and create a spinoff. I will give lefty a whirl.

I wonder withy Real Estate whether people would go to Google Base and look for their dream home, or whether they would go to one of the specialised real estate website?
I personally would go to the specialist real estate website I think.
