A while back I asked for help with starting a (theoretical - although now wholly possible) design company...
We now have a website to show.
(O.K. some of the links might not work, we havent had long to create this)
Anyway, we're just looking for a bit of feedback?:D
PS. constructive criticism only please :P

slick
- AndrewH0
looks nice
but imo the navigation stinks
- Russertron0
Considering the amount of time given i think you've done well. Im liking the clock but not to keen on the pixilated hand doing the stencilling on the intro.
Good work

Is there any work on the site ?
i found it hard to navigate on the site, maybe if there were more headings or a direction indicator to point in the right way it would be fine,
so far i have found the intro page, and your profiles.
the look isnt bad, i think it just needs a bit of simplification, (navigation wise, the flashlight and clock works)
- khilled0
i think you got some cool ideas for the site itself, refine it a bit keep what you're doing...maybe more work would help but only if it's your best stuff
- canuck0
The navigation is bad. I gave up because I couldn't figure out how to get out of one of the secitons and into another.
Maybe scrap the intro. Too long.

I like my clock from last year better (no content, empty template)
http://pixeltwins.com/content/ve…your site is way too plain, the click to enter spash page doesn't center at all and has a scroll bar for some reason
the popup is not necessary as the size of your site is very small anyway
the nav is very confusing and the icons do not at all denote what the buttons represent
as far as attracting clients with this slow choppy animation... I doubt you will
I suggest you start over completely and read books on html, css, and the grid system if you really do want to persue acquiring clients
that thing reminds me of 1998

the only thing constructive I have to say is that 'devide'[sic] is spelt 'divide'
anything further would possibly be cruel and insensitive

what version3 said
and then some

what rasko said.
and then some.

don't get all too funny witgh buttons, mate. most people, if not all, don't want to bother finding out how to continue using your nav with all the gimmickery that's going on there.
it's nicely animated and a little start, everyone has to start somewhere i guess, but really, from this point on you need to learn how to think and work like a designer.
not someone who knows a bit of flash trickery.

piece of shit.

you know it really gets me going..
those so called street artist always using the same topicsgeorge bush
mcdonalds
coca cola.it has become so repetative and bland... and its so very easy to criticize with stereotype statments. just a rant though.
- not_lebowski0
the imagery connects well to the message but you should rethink the execution. instead of beating around the bush, get some paint stencils and deface the local train station
- not_lebowski0
also, what tank said. as well as the piece of shit comment
- digitalgravy0
well firstly i would like to thank you for your wonderful 'constructive' criticism... particularly liked the piece of shit comments.
I guess its true what they say about designers being stuck so far up their arse that they cant give a valid explanation.
Once again all faith in the design and creative arts sytems has been thrown down the drain.
apart from that, let me remind you that we are still 'kids'. We do NOT have years and years of training. We do NOT have wonderful Flash training.
This is our FIRST attempt.
Plus these are the kinda things we were expected to make:

Thanks.

I didn't like it for the following reasons.
It launched in a pop up window. What's the point in that?
The graphic / pixel hand thing looks a bit rushed and just doesn't really work.
The navigation - when I clicked on a profile, I eventually found out I had to click on that button again to close it so I could use the other buttons. Not very obvious.

My main criticism is the use of the popup window to be honest. Don't fall into the trap of using them because so many people have popup blocking on these days, you're doing yourself out of an audience.
- Nairn0
- I shouldn't have to click something to see your site (first torch link)
- I shouldn't have to suffer a popup
- I quite like the stencil animation (choppy pixels and all)... but don't see the relevance when the rest of your site is trying to represent clean minimalism? (and, yes - it takes too long... )
- You should never complicate navigation like that! NEVER!!
[how on earth DO i get out of the 'what's hot' section?! - I've had to close window and re-pop!]. Make it idiot-proof & consistent.Basically - and I don't like saying this - it fails utterly as a commercial site.
As a student proof of concept or Flash show-off piece, maybe it works - but, you WILL lose people's interest out there in the real world. Also - and I appreciate that some of the comments you have received have been less than worthy and a bit of a kick in the balls - but you exhibit the same ruthlessness when you compare your work to the other student projects, which frankly, I actually find easier to use and more engaging. Still a little pokey and studenty, but ... I can appreciate them 'better'.
Yes, design-niks can be cunts - but that's half the fun! Keep your pecker up and Just Do Better next time ;)
