what do you guys do if a client doesnt like anything you put in front of them and then keeps requesting hundreds of edits...?
i swear i must have shown them at least 50 different logo concepts and i think we are on like round 6 of edits....!!!
i am working on a brand / web / print stuff for a small it consulting company and i had them sign a contract - so the logo was the first part of the job... now --four months later (!) --I am trying to get out of it myself... i want to offer a good service but this is just gone way too far.
any thoughts?

Ask for 50% payment for the work so far, then give them the files to keep and say Adios!
- shilohous0
time to put the smack down, or take it all away.
- monNom0
fuck those guys.
I'd pull out. Clients like that (in my experience) are the type not to pay.
Don't be rude about it, but suggest that they try another designer/firm as they're not getting what they want from you.

You should make them watch that video on this site by Belief, then they'll realize that they themselves are indeed creativity/life/artistic sucking twats.

sorry... i just had to vent - those fuckers are driving me crazy... - fortunately i made them pay 15% of the entire quote up front - so I can just tell them i will consider this the payment for the logo work done so far... i am afraid to even begin designing their site - when a simple logo takes sooo many fucking edits.. you guys are right - i am done with them
oh - i just found out theyre already using one of the versions of the logo on their site!!! fuckers
- shilohous0
if they are already using a version, you better call em on it.
dont email them, sit face to face and say - sooo apparently you settled on x.. this is great, so here is the rest of the identity..
blalblabla
BUT in order for me to move forward AND TRANSFER THE RIGHTS, i'm gonna need you to pay x amount up front. so i can finish the work..
sack up man
- visualplane0
If they are a pain in the ass about the logo, it would probably only get worse with the website. Bail if you can

(Mar 29 06, 19:55)boom! wtf are you doing!?! stand your ground and time to get paid IN FULL.
- horton0
and grab some screenshots of your logo in use.
- goldgrube0
I want to see the logo first
- b_magallanes0
how are you billing them?
- version30
you may want to look into becoming a phone sex operator if you like conducting business on the phone then getting fucked in the end
send me your client info, i'll take over, i don't mind doing my job
oh and link the site they are using your logo on, we all want to see.
and no saying "i can't" because of this or that, the only reason people say that is they are ashamed of the work, which might be why you are on round 6 of revisions of your 50th comp
- shutdown0
if they're using the logo then that part of the job is done
- jamble0
Keep invoicing them. They will soon get the message.
- ********0
if they are USING the logo then do like someone said previously and get in touch with them and say "ooo glad you have decided on the logo" :)
- stevegee0
dayam, V3 laid it down!
read this aticle by Debbie Millman about clients dragging on about shit:
http://tinyurl.com/nm86pIn the future, when you lay out a proposal, limit the owrk to X number of revisions and after that, you're charging by the hour... so you don't get raped again!

hey dudes -- thanks for the comments... here is a few of the logos i presented - since some of you seemed to be interested...
