Ive kind of had an altercation with someone I used to work with, after work in the pub.

Unfortunately I've witnessed many escalated verbal exchanges at my first studio and eventually it turned physical one night at the office Christmas party. One of the owners of the studio had been going through some personal shit and was pretty drunk and decided to take it out on the 50 year old gay man that worked with us. It was fucking pitifull. I quit my job that night and haven't spoken to my old boss since then. That was about 2 years ago...
Not to mention, it was in one of the nicest restaurants in Toronto...

nearly had a fight with my CD once, got as far as a square go - however, as designers, I doubt either of us cut a suitably terrifying figure as to make it anyting but comical.

my old bosses were husband & wife—not sure if anyone around here still remembers my posts from about 15 months ago—and they used to yell at each other all day long. The worst part is that I was stuck in this tiny "office" with another designer and the wife when the husband (asshole) would come in and yell at her at least twice a day. She would yell back too of course. Their daughters also worked there (no they weren't hot at all) and the younger one was such a bitch and would yell at both of the parents for no reason. "DAD MOVE YOUR FUCKING CAR / DAD BRING ME THE FUCKING VACUUM!!!"
God I hated them.
They never went fisticuffs or anything, though.

I told one of my co-workers she's driving me f'ing crazy for asking for a major navigation change 2 days before launch and I proceeded to tell our manager what a piss poor job she was doing... I'm now looking for a job...
and not a fight but a boss of mine at an old job was trying to teach me something in photoshop that I already knew and he was all fucked up. The dude passed out for a few seconds before a woke him up.

Where I used to work, my AD always gave everyone crap. Most of the time, it was about the stupidest things.
So, I am a fairly even tempered guy, but I can get under someone's skin if I want to. Let me just say that I hate quark, and my machine had some messed up version on it. Whenever I used it something bad would happen. So, I'd always be telling him how much Quark sucks. Apparently, this was a touchy subject for him. And one day he was apparently at his breaking point. I made some comment about Quark and he just went off on a tirade about how I should just work and shut my mouth... this went on for a couple minutes with him yelling quite loud. Meanwhile, it was an intern's first day, he sat at the desk right next to me. He later told me, he almost broke out laughing. So, I just listened and after he was done, I told him very calmly that I thought he was being an idiot and that he could dish it out but couldn't take it (he was full of talk). We didn't talk for about the next week or so, I found a new job a few months later. No physical punched thrown, but it was pretty intense.
