and a unicorn on top.
also the date the company was founded, underneath, in all caps Trajan, in Latin ofcourse, starting with "est."

(Mar 14 06, 06:29)that website is rad.
i like the support copy seperate from the logo.
- skt0
It's nicer in one colour. But it is just an n in a circle. Doesn't really say nature or corner. In fact a circle / oval is the only shape you could have picked that doesn't have a corner.

(Mar 14 06, 06:35)Uhh... yeah I only registered it a few days ago and I only just put the logo up there like yesterday. I merely posted the address because someone wanted to see the logo in one colour.

i agree with skt. logo doesnt represent nature or corner.
I guess it doesnt have to.
one colour looks much better.
"n" doesnt look healthy, or greeny. it looks like a delivery guy "n" logo

Oh well, I like it and the client likes it. I tried dozens of different trees, leaves, flowers, birds etc. inside the circle but none of them did it for the client so we went with this. That made her happy and that's what matters.
I like to turn to the NT community for advise sometimes but when it comes to critiques, most people say something stupid or blunt instead of saying what they like or what works or what doesn't. Would be nice if critiques were taken seriously around here.

Sorry, I just told you what I thought didn't work. That was an n in a circle.
- TheAristocrat0
Have you tried incorporating leaves, sprouts etc... to the N in the circle. Adding a more organic feel to the "n" might help it mix better with the banner and also tie nature in a little tighter
- D_Dot0
Outside.
Nice work!
- fifty500
yeah I tried leaves but the client liked wheat instead since she's a baker. i also tried dozens of different illustrations inside the circle (i know circles have no corners, btw) but she seemed to like the "n" the most. I spent hours drawing all these little birds too :(

I would like the banner shading lines to not be so perfect. maybe stagger them..
- kev_charlton0
Yeah, i agree. the shading staggered would make it a bit more rustic.
smart logo fella.

I also have to add that I am questionaing your market positioning, because this is very staid and quite down market looking at the moment, it actually reminds me of the sort of thing you may find in a motorway service stop. Organic type café's /stores here are frequented by wealthier types and the identities reflect a more modern/contemporary feel.
- fifty500
Thanks, I'll do what I can with the shading. The original concept didn't have those lines but I added them for that "rustic" feel but I guess I could change them.

The n feels too clean - it needs some texture. It's not crunchy enough.
- fifty500
Rasko, I know where you're coming from and that's how I approached it at first. However this little bakery/café place is in a small town in Ontario, Canada (population = only a few thousand) and there are very few of the "wealthy types" around there.
After proposing a modern, contemporary feel (which is what I prefer), she said no, it has to be a warm, traditional country-style logo and she proceeded to show me all these pictures of friggin' wheelbarrows and wheat stalks and all kinds of country crap.
Anyways I agree with you that it should be clean, modern and contemporary but that's not her "style", as she told me. Too bad but I gotta do what the client wants.
- rasko40
yeah thats understandable, do what you can, be good to see a tuned-up version
