Instead of the mapquest map, I would trace it, or you can download really nice Muni or Bart (i forget which) as PDF's that are still vector and actually beautiful.

dang I must be bored. I just left it load again and it was more like 2.5 minutes.
as for the map, there is no context to that screen shot plus i'm not sure if there is a copyright issue with using mapquests image.

I'm not sure if i've missed it, but is there anything there that needs the flash8 player? That's a lot to ask someone for a site about windows.

I agree that everything needs to be downsized a bit. There are some nice images there, but they look blown up and pixelated. Perhaps reducing the overall size of things will improve that.
I think the site would work well as a little microsite, but due it's large size it all becomes a bit spaced out and doesn't do the imagery justice.
Not too sure about the gradient at the top either.

IMHO.... i like it but...
1. splash page - no needed
2. make the width smaller
3. make the footer smaller (the height)
4. make the text smaller and make a larger padding around the text
5. make larger left padding at logo
6. i think that the power point icon is very big and the position is wrong, what about right?
7. the image of the product, I think must be at right.
8. at “About Us” the text is under the title, at the others the text is next to title...

Sorry but to me it looks like a bad site for a bad club night. I think you might have missed your target audience. And it really doesn't need to be that size. Just because it is for 1024x768 doesn't mean you have to try and fill it, especially if you have nothing good to fill it with.
I would drop the size down (font, menu, layout in general), pick some nice colours and try again.
And if you're not sure on the site design you should get us to crit your mock ups before building the entire thing.

I'm using Firefox with Flash 8.5 player installed. I can't get past the flash detection page :(

what's letting you down is the bad use of typography and all the flashy transitions which are a bit naf. You've got nice images to work with that works quite nicely with the colour scheme that you are adopting. Just work on your compositon a bit harder mate.
