I like the idea of a pop/rock/movie/porno/sport star using its power to get to global major problems, it´s kind of the peoples vox, get it! he gets the credits, sells a few more records, and keeps doing what he likes, that Man should be politician, I like his Music!
- Baskerville0
he should defititely NOT be a politician.
What annoys me is that he can feel all superior to politicians whilst still being a rock star. But he's not a politician and wouldn't have the first clue about law and the political process or history.
Let him keep making his vox pops and not worry about the details, he's happy like that.
I still don't think that just because he wants to save the world people should buy he mediocre music

"What annoys me is that he can feel all superior to politicians whilst still being a rock star. But he's not a politician and wouldn't have the first clue about law and the political process or history."
and you do? who does? least he's doen somethen about it. crazy that someone could find fault in that.
"no rock star deserves to help others and have an opinion! NO ONE!! it annnoyss me!"
- mattyd0
yeah... for the better!
- mattyd0
how to dismantle an entire thread...
ill first start with jaline. your opinion is contrived and uninformed. my opnion on your opinion is educated and well formulated. why, i just had to go to your website to see your 'music' preferences. which ive limited to "Metric, Controller.Controller, Sia, The Stills, Sleater-Kinney, Panic! At the Disco,, Melissa Auf der Maur, Spoon, Immaculate Machine, Eisley, Love Is All, Le Tigre, Madonna, Broken Social Scene, Sixpence None the Richer, Charlotte Hatherley, We Are Scientist".
cripes. for someone with madonna in their music prefrence, i think your opinion on calling them 'average' is left by the wayside.

he does have a more positive view of the world than BUSH, he has studied politics and filosophy. He is arrogant with politicians, and I think he might have plans for his future that envolves politics, and he is defenetely not a medrioc musician!

yaaahhhh kiiidddd. spoken from someone who doesn't know the whole story. i'm sure those responsible just throw around nobel peace prize nominations and time person of the year awards to people who don't know the "first clue about law and the political process or history".
do us a favor, have a read...
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/1…the new your times just throws out 14 page puff pieces entitled 'the statesman' regularly...

that's not what I meant. I meant that it's fine to criticise politicians but most of them (in the UK at least) are incredibly intelligent and their job is one of the hardest out there. So while you may be a famous rock star, criticising when you haven't tried to be a politician is a bit rich. Bono gets all the respect and MPs get none. He's helping the world every so often, between albums but they are dealing with those issues every day. I think it's great what he's done in afrika and with live 8 etc BUT I still think all those achievments overshadow his mediocre music. Which is wrong for a musician. I'm not belittling his humanitarian projects
- nocomply0
ouch...
I've come to the opinion that you really can't fully critique and examine music until your mid 20s. You need to watch firsthand as trends in music are born and die. Give her a break. I know I'm still working on getting there myself.
As for me.. I'm def. a fan of their older stuff. Seems more raw. more energey and passion there.
