okay I just got me coffee from there. It's like Seattle's institutionalized faggotry frothed over and left dollops of itself all over the earth's landscape. Who the fuck wants to go to a coffee shop and buy a Sergio Mendes or Hendrix cd? I'm not sure if I should go in there with an iPod in one hand and an iDildo in the other or what.

their coffee probably has some addicitive substance other than caffeine in it. after big tobacco is taken down starbucks will be the next target (pissed that that word has been associated by some whitetrash clearing house). then we will all be forced into mandatory labor camps on organic farms. re-education will be led by ralph nadar, who will be tepid to the idea.

Starbucks does effing great coffee.
I've never bought one of their $3 biscotti, a Herman's Hermit CD, a garden hose, a hat for a lizard, toothpicks made from organic Guatamalan lesbian driftwood or anything else that I might accidently notice on my way to the counter..
I'll always try to go the locally owned coffee-shops that they 'magically' appear near to in towns like Buffalo, NY, but I cant quite bring myself to a enforce a total ban on using them in the way that my girl and I are now Walmart-free for nearly a year :).

More seriously, (OK, maybe I really meant it.) I don't really get why people get their underthings in a wad about Trend Whores. All of us make rad things that we hope people will really like. A group of designers contributed to a mucho bueno look and experience at Starbucks and the minute most of the world likes it, we take a crap on the likers. I guess it's Pop eating itself and the designer's penchant for hating what we create after it's two seconds old because it so two seconds ago. I think sometimes we like staying just far enough ahead of the Cool Curve so we have the right to complian and/or the self appointed authority to declare when a thing stopped being rad.

Starbucks is for trend whores? What city do you live in? Any Starbucks I've ever entered have been populated with yuppitudes with breeder glow and fat SUVs.
I never went into a Starbucks when I lived in Seattle but when I moved back to Boston I thanked my lucky stars for them b/c no other coffee shop got it right.

breeder glow is pretty fucking annoying. even breeder trepidation is less annoying- when the new mom tries to get the baby running carriage out the door of a cafe while the older child attempts to hold the door for mommy. the look on her face is a mix of harried and total regret.

Out of all the countries I've been to Australians know how to make coffee. Maybe its all the italians that live here.
Starbucks breaks rule number 1 in coffee making. IT SHOULD NEVER BE TOO HOT TOO DRINK, YOU BURN THE BEAN.
