... I was on welfare the entire fucking time while my father (I admit... he was a little proud - it's okay to accept some help) struggled to feed four boys.
I worked in the cafeteria everyday during high school... EVERY DAY... so I could EAT... Not that it matters - but imagine what that kind of shit does to a kid in the humility department.
When I was 15 - the first fucking thing I did was get a job to at least entertain myself and get rid of the hand-me-downs...
... do you want my medical history too? should we go down that road?
Right now I'm dealing w/a congenital heart defect which is forcing me to have open-heart surgery in the next coming year. I'll have to have this surgery at least twice in my life...
... i'm still trying to figure out how to afford it. I've been FUCKED by the insurance company so far... who basically dropped me... then brought me back w/one stipulation - no heart services...
... and as a kid I spent MONTHS in the hospital w/both physical and chemical ailments that cost a shitload of money to pay for.
But... as I was my father's child, and his other children were very much in the mix too... he did what a PARENT SHOULD DO... and worked his ass off to see that I grew up and had a roof over my head.
It's called work... it's what you do, dobs - I believe in receiving HELP... but not if the person isn't going to work... but 'expect' it. WRONG.
There were few options for 'help'...
as a matter of fact...
... the IRS cleaned out my parents accounts when they COULDN'T pay their taxes because their children were sick...
... then the bank TOOK our home from us... same issue - no money...
... my father moved us around the country trying to find work to stabalize the family etc... I went to three different high schools...
I have a VERY GOOD perspective on what it's like to live as the lower class do. I lived in a nasty apartment stuffed in a room w/three other boys...
... I went to public schools ranging from rich and snobby to semi-inner city schools in which I witness teachers being beaten by their student with chairs, students beating the hell out of each other... and even shooting each other... in the head...
this is why I think I too am done w/this political shit on NT.
dobs, I stated a while back (last month or something)... you think you have your finger on the pulse of what makes us 'conservatives' tick or where a lot of us come from... You're way off... and you're very one-sided. I have a load of perspective... and what I've learned (because of a great PARENT) is that you need to work hard and develop what you have... and use it... and protect it and provide and share it...
... but guard it like a fucking eagle, too. Because there are people out there who think they 'know what you need' and 'know what's best for everyone'... and they'll layer it with guilt, emotion and lies to see that they get their 'humane' adgendas fullfilled... when in fact - their 'ideas' are good... but their reasoning, logic and procedures BLOW. It's always 'take take take' when it should be 'educate educate educate'.
... oh yeah... and shit happens... what ARE you going to do? Be jealous of your neighbor and what they have? Bitch and moan and DEMAND money?...
... or if you're able... get off your ass and stop being such a pussy to the world around you.
easier said than done? yes - especially given the way things have been...
... but the solution IS NOT TO FLOOD THE SYSTEM W/MONEY...
it's to clean out the system of the beaucratic bullshit that holds back the real help... that will only be accomplished over time... through education... stop demanding resources... start teaching people that they're supposed to be self-relient FIRST... and to then lend a hand because it's definetly the human... and dare I say 'loving' thing to do?

i think the war in iraq was good, regardless the result. civil hostility, death, murder and terrorism happens all the time everywhere, so..
the bush administration isn fine with me too, it's always been like that, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Nixon, Bush, Clinton..all the same, so full of corruption and lies, just like the pope, and just like mother theresa. all the same. ghandi was a terrorist as well, same goes for ronald mcdonald and bill gates, but also steve jobs.. it's all corruptness everywhere and anytime.
