i've got an interview with a small staffing firm tomorrow morning. i've never dealt with these type of agencies before and was wondering if anyone can share any good or bad experiences, or things i should be prepared to discuss.

it's both good and bad. they do have places to to send you for work, but they often times try and lowball you for a cheap rate.
i say, sign up with the agency, have a high rate in mind if you do work for them, and when they try and lowball you, stay firm. there is plenty of work out there right now.
also, hit me up with an email and i can hook you up with a few more places you might be able to get work from...

i had an interview with one of them after the company i used to work for shut down. they seemed cool, but yes they tried to low ball me.
they called me back the other day wondering if i still neeeded a job, but i never can call them back cause they close at 5:00.
what was even weirder was the fact that they were in the building that the company i used to work for had once has offices. it was like that movie the Game.

If you can get the recruiter to be on your side, you'll get better opportunities. On your first few assignments, work your butt off and impress your supervisors -- they're the ones who will give feedback to your recruiter. If your recruiter feels like you're doing a good job, you'll be getting much better rates. Remember, better rates for you means better percentages for your recruiter.

they will ask what your lowest possible amount is and then never go higher than that.
SOLUTION: ask them if they get a lot of work for people, and have them brag about how much work they get and how much money they get people, THEN tell them how much you'll work for.

What agency? I had luck with CGR Seven in the past
but I just got hooked up with a new gig through the creative group:

i would avoid all of them if i can. why?: because i want to nagotiate directly to my employer and set my own term.
