Making a mini site for a client, built in Flash MX (6). The menu is a little wonky on a couple internal machines here. Those machines are both PC's, running Windows 2000, Int. Explorer.. The menu doesn't "move" and the linking doesn't work. Can't figure that out, any thoughts? Works on everything else. Thanks!!

Hmm... weird.
I checked it in IE w/ Flash 6, and it works okay here.
Off the top of my head, it's hard to say what'd it be without knowing the code.

Thx for checking. The code for button movement is below, the code for linking is your basic "gotoAndPlay" type.
onClipEvent (load) {
// Set the variables up to be equal to where the clip is now.
xDest = this._x;
yDest = this._y;
aDest = this._alpha;
fDest = this._yscale;
}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
// See if the xDest has been changed
if (this._x != xDest) {
this._x += (xDest-this._x)*.2;
}
// See if the yDest has been changed
if (this._y != yDest) {
this._y += (yDest-this._y)*.3;
}
// See if the aDest has been changed
if (this._alpha != aDest) {
this._alpha += (aDest-this._alpha)*.2;
}
// See if the fDest has been changed
if (this._xscale != fDest) {
this._xscale += (fDest-this._xscale)*.2;
}
}

Hmm... no I checked that out and the animation works okay.
Could be something to do with the onRelease and onRollOver functions.

Running Win2000 over here and the menu seems to work. The frame rate looks really low though. The animation is majorly choppy.

(Feb 13 06, 09:38)Lol. That's the exact opposite on these two machines. Smooth animation, no menu worky. Grrr.
*pulls hair out just a little.

it works OK here...
i think the animation is slow, because of the large image behind...

Thanks. I've noticed the anim. gets a little slow on Macs. But this is directed toward users who are almost exclusively PC based, and I havn't noticed any trouble there....yet....

Are you using scenes? If so, they are completely unreliable with the goto actions. Put a label on the first frame of each scene and goto that.
Also, stay away from onClipEvent just put the code on the first frame of the movieclips timeline or use the event model that was added in flash 6 ie:
myButton.onEnterFrame = function()
{
...
}

I am using scenes, but only for a "transition." From there, an external file loads for that menu selection.
Thanks for your notes. :)

Okay, but are you using gotoAndPlay("Scene",1) or something like that? That's probably where the click through problems are occuring. Just put a label and use that to see if it fixes your problem.
Cheers.
