So I bid on something being misguided, I havent won yet but do you guys know how to get out of it?
I thought I was bidding for a bike but in reallity its not a bike its a list of bikes!
Any suggestions?

a list of bikes?
- fusionpixel0
yeah, this is the title:
NEW! Bicycle Racing Cycle Bike Wholesale Company List!
And it has a picture of it and all
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Bicycle-…
I know it was my mistake by bidding without reading the details.

Chances are someone is going to outbid you, but if you don't disappear of the face of the planet.
I signed up a new ebay account to help out a friend with one of those free ipod deals. I used my junk Yahoo email and i placed a bid of like, a penny on some stupid novelty lighter with a BMW on it. I figured some jackass would outbid me but I ended up winning. I would have actually finished the transaction but the asshole demanded like, 8 bucks for shipping. Long story short I disappeared and I never heard from him or ebay about it.

you can retract your bid

this reminds me of the recent xbox 360 box fiasco.

you can retract your bid in only extreme circumstances. but I like the idea of creating a fake ebay ID and place something higher then disapear.
Or, I was thinking of actually paying for the list and then re-selling it.

*********************ATTENTION EBAY BIDDERS*********************
(You are bidding on wholesale list of suppliers NOT bidding on an actual bike)Second line mate - It's not like they tried to hide it...so I think the blame lies squarely on yourself I'm afraid...simple mistake that anyone could have made. If you want to keep your current account - i suggest sending a nice email to the auction owner explaining your mistake. If they are assholes about it then just dissapear - or buy the list and sell it on like you said...

honestly, what's it like getting served by someone who is probably shitty at your language?
- fusionpixel0
i know jevad, I was so exited about the price that I just saw the bike at the top and at the bottom that I didnt read the details.
Thanks for your suggestions though.

i would just email them. more likely then not they will understand and allow you to retract...assuming they read the emails from ebay customers.
good luck.

How much did you bid?
You could retract your bid by saying it was a typing error.
LIke if you bid 30,99 you just say you meant 3,99.
but you must act quickly, i think this is only possible untill 24 or 12 hours before ending.
But it should work. The numers of bids you retracted will be listed in your profile.

Either retract your bid or since your account has 0 feedback anyway, just ignore the mails when you win. It's not going to affect you. Then just sign up a new account when you want to bid on something again.
