This is pretty much one of my favorite things of all time. I watch this just about any time I'm having a shitty day and suddenly I'm doing alright.

I missed out on ATDI. Only found out about them after I had been introduced to Mars Volta. I did get to see Mars Volta (and Hella) open for System of a Down. My brother and I left after seeing the two opening acts. Didn't want to ruin the experience with System of a Down after that amazing experience. Their visuals are intense!

- < Indeed. He closed their set with a good 8 minute solo. Ridiculously good!soundsinsilence

I saw them open up for Murder City Devils and was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
But I do blame them for bankrupting the beastie boys Grand Royal record label. They were in a bidding war and Grand Royal won the broke up after 1 album, I wonder if the B-Boys ever recouped on their investment?- Murder CIty Played the gig I saw too, but they opened.Andrew_D

Saw them twice in Toronto way back when, the gigs were about 2-3 weeks apart right around the time Relationship Of Command came out. First show before the album had about 200 peeps in downstairs area of the Reverb (currently being demoed) and the second was upstairs where there was 1200-1500(way over capacity). You could tell at the time they weren't ready for the hype machine.
They were on the cover of NOW Magazine the week they played here and I remember Cedric calling them out on some shit they wrote and the comparisons to Nirvana were BS and unfair. I also remember him during the second gig threaten to walk off the stage if the idiots in the front didn't stop "slam dancing, pushing, punching and being violent fuck heads". Shit almost hit the fan with people throwing beers on stage, but they ended up finishing the gig. They were pretty intense on stage and generally tore the shit out of it, both nights were no exception.
Anyways, that's my "cool story, bro" of the day. Interested to see what they've got to offer this time around. Kinda seems like a bad idea, but who knows.

so so stoked for the reunion

I really really really hope that they're just as good second time round. Part of the romance of it all (for me at least) was that they broke up just when they became popular, I reckon this'll erode that a little bit :(

quoting my friend Rob:
"who do they think they are, the fucking eagles?"

Not only did I see them live twice in England - my band opened for them.

kind of and not so kind of...when you are opening up for a band like ATDI...even if you had you best show EVER...it would still suck baws in comparison ya know?

You should check out the multiple Mars Volts threads...
The one time I saw ATDI the singer wrapped himself in gaffers tape little by little each song. By the end of the show he had this gaffer tape straight jacket on with tape over his mouth then took a dive into the drum set.
Very Rock n Roll!

i know exactly what you mean jevad, but no one can ever take away the fact that you guys were on the same bill! many of my close friends have been in and out of bands, and i know how much that stuff means to them.
