I want to buy a flat widescreen monitor 20inch or above.
I hear Apple is the way to go, but I can't spend as much.
Advice appreciated.

i ordered the 24" at work..... haven't received it yet, but i'm been saving some scratch to purchase one for home (if it's half as nice as i've heard).

I just ordered a 2405 for my home, should get it in a few days. My buddy got his 2 weeks ago and can't stop talking about how nice it is. FYI, you don't need to rush on a sale price. I set my company up under the small business from dell and my rep beat any sale price I've seen. Email me if you want his info.
The HP 23 is nice too, which is actaull closer to apples 23 then dells 24, both good, dell was cheaper at the end of the day.

yeah I have loads of apple displays at work, 20 inch and 23 inch and 30 inch flat screen bad boys and I have a cheap assed 100 pound flat screen thing at home and I can detect utterly no difference whatsoever, mind you I haven't any calibration equipment but I don't see the need to get a fancy assed apple dooda.

this one but it is 17/19 I think and also I am sure mine goes up to like 1280 somethings or other, but I will write you an email with the whole spec and stuff also I will take a side shot aswell, it also has a speaker input but obviously the sound is kaka....

Probably already been said, but...
Dell.
Their monitors get better reviews than Apple's (particularly the 30") and are far cheaper.
I have a 20" and 24" LCD love them! Keep an eye on the coupons at www.techbargains.com.
I've seen the 24" as cheap as $800 - I paid $1200 and think it was a deal. It's superb.

got mine for $790 - no coupon, just called my rep and said, what you got, i've seen coupons for 800 or something with free shipping. So if you see a coupon and it expired or something, just give them a call.

This is what my screen looks like when it's only displaying black ..
..surely there shouldn't be so much white bleeding at the corners? is yours like this, d721?
