Dear QBN Community,
When crafting my resume, I would like to know how to place University of Iowa Freethinkers as a place of web design exp. Since this group, by its very nature, displays a view on religion that I think can really hurt me as a designer. Yet i have provided a community service.
I could take it out, but since I graduated a year ago, I am in wonderment (yes, wonderment) whether I should my school groups.
Thank you for a place to speak and hopefully receive some knowledge.
peace.
jPlease advise?

Web Design Experience:
1. University of Iowa Freethinkers
2. **substitute for experience.
How's that?!!!
- rasko40
what the fuck does religion have to do with design?
(unless you're designing bibles or something)

if you have only that experience, just place it in work experience, other than that place it in additional experience or projects

Right on. Thanks everyone. I have plenty of other experience, but it wasn't until last december that I completed my BA (but in English). I was just wondering how/if to fit it in.
As for regards to 'religion,' given some thought, I could be easily discriminated against because of ties to Freethinkers. But somehow I feel being a designer allows some freedom.
And besides, why would I want to work at a place that disriminates against freethought?

dont give people reasons not to hire you.

I still don't understand, what does the Freethinking thing have to do with design experience?
I'd be inclined to not list it if it's not directly related to the job you're going for.

My bad. I was a founding member, the web designer, and secretary (counting members in attendance of meetings).
Since I have near 8 years of experience, I am considering the removal of this from my resume.
So far I have a bout 50/50 opinions here, but there are 3 strong 'nays' - one being myself...

don't list porn under interests either, I learned that the hard way.

If you're concerned about how potential eomployers would view you b/c of this, I would take it out. esp since you are founding member. like someone said before, don't give people a reason not to hire you.

Thanks y'all!
