Looking to buy one of these.
http://www.suzuki.ca/GrandVitara…
I think for the price, you get way more then others in it's range. What do you think?

it looks shiny and big.
I don't know about the car but the site is very nicely done.

at the end of the day it's a suzuki sitting in your driveway.
Are you prepared for that?
- sherman0
haha you said jeep
- version30
and own 2

apart from the Cherokee though, those jeeps are ugly as piss.
- D_Dot0
I looked at the jeeps, but they are built on car frames making them quite, but this also means they are prone to breaking down and tipping over.

what about a honda element
i guess this depends on your needs?

jeeps look like shit these days, especially that new 2 door they just released... they have solid engines but rust buckets.
unless you live in the mtns or are an off-roader SUV's are useless.

i had a 2006 Nissan XTrail rental for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it.
that'd be my pick in that compact SUV class.
but the again, i'm now back to sporting an '87 mazda station wagon now.. and pretty content with a cheap, low impact vehicle.
i got an old Ford pickup if i need to haul loads of gear.

The SUV is a perfect compromise in a marriage. It keeps me from driving a mini van, and she doesn't want a truck, so the SUV works great. Pluss I need to have the room for my dog, and I need to tow a trailer from time to time.
The other options were
- Kia Sportage
- Jeep Liberty/Cherokee
- Nissan Xtrail
- Saturn Vue
- horton0
so why not the Xtrail?
i'd take Nissan before Suzuki, anyday.

Have you looked at the Honda CRV?
I was looking at trading in my '98 CRV for a new Suzuki Grand V. I like the styling and it's a big improvement from their last Grand V which looked like crap.
I was hoping that since Suzuki can make a decent bike they could make a decent car but all the car mags have been giving the new Grand V terrible ratings.

That price isn't that good.
Have you priced the Honda Pilot LX , or the Mercury Mariner? You can get 4WD, leather and a V6, in both for less than 27k.

horton: I like the Xtrails styleing but the base price is around the same as the fully loaded Vitara. So after adding all the features to make it comparable, it's like 4 grand more. I really liked the ride of the X-trail though.
fullerc: Give the G Vitara a test drive, you won't be dissapointed. They've come a long way from last years models.
Thanks for all the input.

if the new one is anything like the older models, i'd say stay far away. my sister had the last model with every option and it's been by far the worst car my family has ever had, including extended families.
although, the new one does look shiny.
