you can barely see the difference between the white space and the light grey bg on the home page on an LCD.
at least on my crappy LCD.

Nice layout, works well.
Agree on the contrast issue. I think the grass bg for the work has been a bit over-used but maybe thats just me.
I liked the old one too.

I'm going to say that not having an image to start or the level of contrast are nice. It would be better still to imply how the structure is going to manipulate, but not a big thing.
The thing that does bug me is that projects are listed by numbers, so the user has no way of knowing what he's clicking on or to prioritize clicking on stuff. Also, if you change content, then stuff will move around making it even harder to find a specific project.

i'm not having any image loading problems at all, either on mac or pc (haven't tried safari, though). it all runs really smoothly.

No images are loading for me, FF on mac 10.3, but i can see the layout and it all looks nicely arranged/spaced.
I agree with the points about upping the contrast of the 'socket studios' text just to bring it out a little, and I would also agree with having the 'details' page as the first thing you see...
Good work though paul, keep us updated on this one!

I like it skt no pishing about gets the stuff across very clearly, I however would like the option to visit some of the sites did I miss that option?.
I have to say I freaking dig the christmas card and the blowbag poster esp. the blowbag poster it is very well laid out indeed well done.
I feel the text might be too light aswell I am on a classic mac internetus explorer.

I like the layout skt. could use an image on the landing screen. Other than that, the images are not loading in Safari 2.0.3 on my Mac...
Looking forward to seeing it running properly!

Not a single image loaded in the Print section in IE6 WinXP. In FF1.5 I clicked like 20 times on different samples in the print section and less than 10 times I got an image.
The links in the print section seem to work better if I go first to another section and come back to it.
Anyway I did have image loading problems on all sections of the site on both FF and IE, but mostly IE
As to the look of the site, it needs something. Like other people said a graphic at the beginning would be nice.
When I entered the site I was like 'that's it?' I was kinda expecting something else to load coz it seemed too clean or incomplete.I also kinda felt like leaving when i entered the site coz I couldn't tell wheter I was gonna look at good stuff or crap.
Anyway, from the images that did load I can say there's some good stuff there.

Argg. So it appears to be a fairly random bug. I don't think it is the images failing to load though, I think it might be a problem with the function that tweens the image mask.
When an image fails to show, are you still seeing details on the right hand side?

yeah the preloader is completing in the right box, but nothing appears after that in the left one! wierd huh, give us a shout if you want to change something and have me check it again!
