moth has a point though.
howevere, the idea of these people walking around (even behind bars) still sort of creeps me out.

and with the british justice service at its best...they'll get day releases, go to libraries, freely walk around, unchecked

(Jan 11 06, 03:47)I only agree with myself if the system actually made them suffer a bit more. Solitary Confinment for the rest of time, drive them into their own private hell or something.
Of course all this ended with some do-gooders and the human rights act.

(Jan 11 06, 03:50)I reckon put them in with the general population in prision, don't put them in solitary.
Let the rest of the prison population do a bit of 'babysitting' themselves.

how are any of those examples going to rehabilitate any of the criminals?
do you not think its a bit short sighter to make someone suffer while ignoring the cause/root of the problem?
at what point are you going to try and help the person or are you just going to foget about the person while they suffer?
- paraselene0
i can't even begin to think about this.
and, soda, i bet that's exactly what will happen.

Here we go..
- kelpie0
I'm not even going to get anywhere near the rehabilitation vs punishment/containment arguement on here (again).

(Jan 11 06, 03:55)I'm a strong believer that prison should be about rehabilitating more than punishing. But unfortunately I think the time to rehabilitate this bloke is far gone.
Now it's a case of lock him away to for the safety of others.
We should be doing more to stop people from becoming like him and looking at the cause of such serious stuff.
- Jnr_Madison0
Rehabilitation is never an option for people like that. They will always be fucked. You can look and find he reasons why, but it doesn't change what they did.

cheers kelpie... bloody ear now!
as a society we should not be willing to induce harm or suffering on another human being in a kneejerk reaction.
this guy deserves to be punished, no questions about that. but we shoudl be asking why these people did this and invest in them. we can never stop things like this happening but we can understand why it happens.
as a society we have a responsability to inlcude each and every person in it. and im afraid that we need to include the scum, degenerates and tony blair aswell.
i dont want to turn this into a rant... so ill stop now.
- lowimpakt0
baby rape rhymes with fete
