Tick,
My view of Christianity is based on the Bible. I believe it's the only reliable historical source to formulate a view of "Christianity", as nebulous as that is in this discussion. So, I'm not sure what specifically would cause you to suggest that my view is "modern". Seems totally unfounded to say that. If you can show me specifically where I have suggested something that is not in harmony with Bible-based Christianity, that is one thing. But otherwise, your generalizations mean very little.
And you don't have me on ignore. ;)

cphunk, your work excites me. Great site.
- cphunk0
Answer my question please. What do you do exactly? Thank you for the compliment but you're still dodging.
- discipler0
I do lots of things. But my personal career choices do not pertain to this discussion.

the tick..
hey man...my father in law often talks about the early christian stuff in india...that being where he's from..
like you, i find it pretty fascinating too..
my wife and her family are all catholic...the catholic faith has been in Kerala India for a very very long time...
fortunately for me tho, he's no bible thumper...his opinion is that the church was instrumental in bringing things like literacy and education to the region...
he's quite proud of it...that and also the fact that the region has also been pretty much socialist for decades...
socialist, catholic and very educated..
it makes for a pretty interesting province...

noice site cphunk. Don't look at mine, it's still being fixed. Had a big fiasco with that. I do print work and hired a developer that made a pig's ear of the whole thing. Thank God I'm not looking for a job as a developer...
New Year's Resolution: learn flash so when I say 11/15 pt, IT WILL ACTUALLY BE DONE
..sorry for yelling, very stressed right now..
- cphunk0
Actually I believe it does. Why hide it? I'm an Art Director by profession.
You're dodging my question for a reason - and people are beginning to see through you a little bit. You must find it frustrating, because I'm sure you probably get that reaction alot given the amount you discuss this topic.
I think giving us a little bit more of a window to you would help you a bit because I'm finding myself unable to look much past the feeling in my gut when I read your posts.
So again - what exactly do you do?
- cphunk0
Thanks gramme - and cool! I look forward to seeing your new work. I'm sure it'll be great. Flash is a super tool if used wisely :).

I gotta say, this is an interesting site, if it's your thing:
- gramme0
heh
ya and when used poorly it makes you want to BASH YOUR OWN HEAD WITH A HAMMER
grr I need to go work out or something. My new dev. is very talented but had no idea what he was saying when he told me he could fix all headaches in one day...

dearest discipler.
dude, i'm not about to get drawn into a long-ass debate with you regarding the minute details of intelligent design vs darwinism..
suffice to say that i have a problem with any institute that has as it's main mission statement that its trying to infuse christian ideals into science.
to me, thats not science.
if it is to you, excellent...i'm glad you've found something to believe in...
but honestly dude...
put your cards on the table..
if you're an accountant, tell us...if you're an electrician, cool...if you're a student of philosphy, let us know...
whatever it is that you do...i'll go first, although most in here already know..
i'm the creative director at a small IT firm based around Toronto Ontario.
i've been working in advertising/design and webdesign since about 1994.
i first discovered this site (like a lot of folks) when k10k went offline for over a year and i'd started to check out holodeck 73 (sort of the precurser to this site)
what do you do?
how did you find your way here?
what is it about arguing that you dig so much?
haven't you noticed by now that most of us do not share your ideology?anyhow, just curious...
- cphunk0
gramme - ya duke - your design skills are strong - nice work. Always hard when doing personal work to find a good developer - cause it's money out of your pocket, or a pro bono job (which people end up not giving a shit about, and then the relationship is kinda tarnished).
I just gave in to learning the programming. Definitely a pain at first, but worth it!
- gramme0
thanks cphunk. I shoulda looked for someone on here first of all...
as soon as I get this one finished I'm learning flash & dreamweaver so v. 2.0 will be all me.

"with any institute that has as it's main mission statement that its trying to infuse christian ideals into science."

Show me where an organization researching and promoting Intelligent Design, says this, exador.
You outright reject something without knowing what it states. That is intellectual dishonesty.

The point of view Discovery brings to its work includes a belief in God-given reason and the permanency of human nature; the principles of representative democracy and public service expounded by the American Founders; free market economics domestically and internationally; the social requirement to balance personal liberty with responsibility; the spirit of voluntarism crucial to civil society; the continuing validity of American international leadership; and the potential of science and technology to promote an improved future for individuals, families and communities.
- cphunk0
You're predictable duke. I think this site would be a better place for your "voice":
http://www.christianforums.com/One thing to take part in a discussion - another to do what you do in this forum in my opinion.
You obviously have something to hide - which I also find concerning given the nature in which you preach.
- discipler0
So, because they use the expression "God-given", they are about infusing religion into education, etc..., mrdobs?
Nice reasoning.
- gramme0
discipler, brother...
I think we've flogged this subject well into oblivion. As a fellow believer who agrees with you on most things...take a breather. Some arguments will never be won.
- discipler0
agreed, gramme.
