dude,
you definitely need to get your rear-end get it checked by a doctor. i mean, your back and neck...you should get compensated for the medical bill or otherwise, it'll be a nasty lawsuit.

same thing happened to my wife in college. She was in an accident and felt fine. The next day she woke up and couldn't get out of bed.
If your back and neck are really bothering you, it's in your best interest to get it looked at by a doctor.
My wife never went to a doctor and she still complains of a stiff neck (the accident was something like 4 yrs ago)

.. for how long did your neck & back hurt?
horton
(Dec 29 05, 19:06)hurt for about a week.
at first i thought it was from heavy lifting at the gym. a few days before my back and neck started to hurt i was doing moderately heavy deadlifts. only when i talked to another person about it did they say the same thing happened to them after an accident.
2 days later i could hardly get out of bed.
i knew it wasn't all that serious cause i was only hit doing about 20-30mph. when his insurance guy asked how my back was (very casualy), i said it just started hurting like hell. he's like 'how about we give you $1000 to get it checked out?'
so i of course said hell yes.
well. in doing so that's all the money you can ever get from them. basically you 'settled' with them. so, if my back was really screwed up and i needed thousands in medical to fix it i would have been fucked cause the 1000 that they gave me was the settlement.
so. keep that in mind.

horton, it can take months for the long-term effects of this accident to become apparent.
i don't have the "sue" mentality either, but protect yourself by not accepting final compensation from your insurance company yet. they'll try to give you something to cover immediate costs, which may forfeit future medical claims stemming from your accident.
just watch the fine print.

Damn shame that happened to you, but, as I speak from experience (not getting hit semi-trucks, but playing college ball) never wait for the injury to present itself. Unfortunately, it's to late for preventative measures at this time, so what you need to do is at least start taking an over-the counter anti-inflam such as ibuprofen. Immediately go to the doctor as well. 1 minormisalignment in your body over time can wreck your entire system. I ruptured a disc in my back once, but I had no idea. I though I just strained my back and had sore muscles. So I went about my daily routines of school working out etc. Then almost a month later, I began to have agonizing pain; so much in fact that over a period of 3 days it got to the point where I couldn't walk. I was fuckin army crawlin to the pisser.

it was icing on the cake after spending 3 days stuck in traffic & traveling back & forth across the lower mainland.
but... i did get a Nissan XTrail free rental for 2 weeks.. fresh off the lot, less than 200km. its a nice ride.
