i think he worked for enron and now he is home alone, without a job, just watching stocks go up and down and his social and natural life go down the drain. all filled with greed, cynicism and keen and not so keen ways of hiding the low self-esteem for himself and others.

"Millionaires like Whitehead might be happy about keeping an extra $20 thousand dollars a year in their pockets, but as a former Chairman of The Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a former CEO of one of the largest investment banks in the world, Whitehead is concerned about the broader state of our economy.
MARIA HINOJOSA: You're saying that this particular time is the worst time in terms of the federal deficit and the fiscal state of affairs in our country?
JOHN WHITEHEAD: Yes. I think the most dangerous time, maybe-- in my lifetime. And I've been looking at these things for quite a few years now. I suppose 1928 looked something like it does today. Everybody was happy in 1928. But doom came in 1929 and it lasted-- the Depression lasted for many years. "

i don't think saving 245k by age 35 is impossible.
let's say you have 60-80k saved up by age 30.
if you make 100k/yr and put away 20% that's 20k a year. if you start making 150k and do 20% of that, that's 30k. it'll add up and be around 200k.
of course, if someone makes that salary range...

Federal borrowing rose about $400 billion last year, but in a globalized financial market, where demand and supply come from all over, that's less than 1 percent of total debt. A pebble in the ocean.
It's not that deficits don't matter just not at these levels, or at any level that's truly feasible. Our government debt, at about 50 percent of GDP, is far lower than that of Europe and Japan. Unless deficits truly get out of hand (and we're far from that), other things, like taxes, matter much more. President Bush said that tax cuts would leave more money in the pockets of Americans, who would spend and invest to lift the economy. That's happened. As the economy gets better, revenues will rise, and the deficit will shrink.
Sorry but your plan isn't working. You all have a lot to learn.
