If you're going to play the stock game, be prepared to lose. Especially the hotshot day-traders. You are better off going to OTB.

for IRA and SEP, i do mutual funds. but 80% of my investment is in stocks. It has returned about 25% average in 2005.
my mutual funds returned about 8-10%.
in any case, i like playing with the stocks.

http://www.scottrade.com is pretty cheap.
And google overvalued??? If anything i would say they are undervalued. That is why i got in. Even at 450/share they are undervalued. That is the point of that article, trying to give google an accurate value. The past year the multiplier has been really low. As it gets more accurate it will even out, but i really think it will be about 600 by end of summer. But i'm just playing for me, So don't take my advice!

It's more about diversification than anything. Mutual funds are fine, but they only go as far as where you buy them. It's just an open-end company. I worry about some portfolio managers.

ha... i've missed out on apple stock since pre OSX... So now I just kinda laugh. That is one big constant, i never buy it, but recommend it to other people. I new i should of bought when it split last year... would of doubled! =(
