Does anyone know how to allow images to scale within your flash movie and not get all jaggie?
Here is an example of a site that does this, the flash movie scales to your screen resolution: http://www.jeremycowart.com

put this in the 1st frame of your root timeline:
_quality = "BEST";
easy and usually works..

use a big image as well

I'm not sure about that site, but one trick is to use a vector mask slightly smaller than the image which will give you nice crisp edges on your images when they are scaled.

I didnt mean the images being jaggied along the edges... the jags are all over the image. Just pull the corner of your browser window inward and scale it down to see what I mean... the images remain crisp.

Yeah, quality=best is the way to go. Check this:

I have the feeling what he means is how shitty Flash displays bitmaps when they're not scaled to 100%.

if you have the image as a jpeg imported into a swf you can set jpeg smoothing to true on the mage format

I'm a little late but I built that site. The main thing to lose the jaggies is the quality="best". Also you want your jpegs to be the maximum size they wiill be viewed at. Otherwise the upscaling makes them look bad.
