Anyone have one/using one at work?
Is it worth the extra bones over the knock offs?
Discuss..

I love it...it is without a doubt the most comfortable chair ever...

is at your job or at home? Did you buy it, full price?

every desk here has an aeron. they're ugly as fuck but pretty comfortable.
it has like half a dozen different places to adjust, so if i ever bother to mess with my settings maybe it'd be better.

i want to see a pic of you on the chair with your snow gear and a beer. oh and your new adopted child with a brand new PSP, and a AEROBEE frisbee and a dopepope t-shirt!!!
:)

just got the mirra from the wife, I really dig it.

they actually hurt my lower back....but that could also be due to my back being so funked up from all the snowboard accidents.

it is totally worth it.
they are so expensive and so nice. but i would never had known til i had one. my tail bone used to hurt bad in a shitty chair after a few hours of solid work. havent felt the pains with the aeron

I have one w/ lumbar at work and one w/ posture fit at home. While the posture fit seems to be the new and advanced (through research) solution, it doesn't adjust much and only fits the lower back. The original lumbar support can slide up and down the back.
Def worth it. Buy direct from a Herman Miller reseller. If you are an architect or designer, you get a 55% of retail discount immediately. Just ask for the A&D discount.

what if i'm not an architect but still say i am?
do they check that shit?

There great but chew through your jeans.. that mesh is tough shit.

Love 'em. I've had 3 of them. Look on Craig's list for used ones if you don't want to pay full price.
Not many places offer discounts to architects, at least the places I've talked to - and I am an architect.
Next time, though, I'll be prepared (got's me a connection at HM ;-)

I got one from ebay for $400 a few years ago. It's great, was in brand new condition but was the small size. I just about fit in it at 5'11".

irrelevant - wish I could, wish I could...the connection isn't direct
if it makes you feel better, I paid full price for the 3 I've bought

The only downside of the Aeron is when you have to expel intestinal gas, there is no foam or cushion to absorb it. So, beware when at work. There is no "safe" delay when passing your gas.

Have Aeron at home. The Mirra I have at work easy trumps it.
- kyl30
I agree geith, the mirra was designed more recently so that may have something to do with it.

My only complaint is the lumber support on the mirra loosens up over time. Anybody else have this problem?
