Though not wishing to downplay anyone's troubles, I thought I would try to bring a balance in the force to the PVN and announce that the child we are adopting will be moving in with us this weekend!!! Several weeks ahead of what was planned...
argh I'm so stoked...and totally shitting my pants.

My only advice (having been an 8 year-old once) is to just treat them like a regular person and not a kid. Don't talk down to them. That used to piss me off!
Obviously you'll be a role model too, so be on your best behaviour. And never show that you don't know something, always go and look it up together with them.

Good News! I just saved lots of money on my car insurance!

I heard that some art director told his kids that if they wanted toys, they had to build it themselves. So rathar than buying them toys, he bought them all kinda of parts like pvc pipes and stuff and they made their own shit. helps built creativity and craftmanship
