15" or 17" pb?

Both models have fairly serious and common screen quality issues.
I would definitely NOT recommend the 17"
I got one and returned it because the screen quality was so terrible.
All of the 17" models in the Apple's stores around Seattle were like that.Apple went cheapass on the current models' displays.

i literally went through the same thing 2 nights ago! was in the apple store contemplating for a good half hour
i ended up going 17" and i think i made the right choice. the 15" was just a little bit too small to be running photoshop with palettes open, etc.
plus, the 17" is actually quite a bit thinner than the 15" ... go figure!

I had a job for a YEAR where I took my 17" powerbook with me on the bus everyday.
Even with fatties next to me, I was fine.
Unless something is wrong with your back where you'd actually feel the difference of a pound or two, why would you not want that fantastic 1440x900 display.
DO NOT listen to anyone who says it's hard to carry. When it comes to screen space, RAM or speed, the more the better.
