(Nov 17 05, 09:05)I was thinking more the unbearable temptation to hit the person next to you after a few hours of cranking laptop up in yo face.
But I'd fight either one of you for it just for fun haha, and I don't even NEED a laptop hahahahaha

Reading over that site, mimio, it seems that many of the principles they're moving forward with could and should be applied to other computers:
"Second, we will get the fat out of the systems. Today's laptops have become obese. Two-thirds of their software is used to manage the other third, which mostly does the same functions nine different ways."
Does Windows XP come to mind? Hasn't it been documented that the Home version was actually slower than an equivelent Windows 2000 set up because of all the extra stuff that was running to help people figure it all out, aka make it easier to use?

if that handcrank came with an adjustable resistance setting that i could set on max i'd buy one so i could work on my guns.

I'm seriously excited about this. I will be donating money to the program once it's up and running.

kona, are you on XP or 2000?
I've been tinkering with shutting off processes and such lately, seeing what speeds it up. I basically just need more memory.
But why as time goes on with a computer, are there just more and more processes in the list? I've researched them, made sure they're not malicious, etc.
I wish windows specified things better. I want to know what's critical to performance, and what isn't so it can be turned off.
