The polo ad in question did not have anything to do with VW. The fact that they would never make it made it very viral.

"VW had nothing to do with it"
MY ARSE!!!!course they had something to do with it! they just didnt admit it.
undo undo, nop they never sued over it which even moreso suggests that the campaign boosted their sales or interest in the brand. they had headlines all round the world and everyone received a link to that video in their mailbox from a friend.
its probably more successful at boosting the brand than ANYTHING VW have ever done in the past and probably spent sums with a lot more zero's after them for previous 'real' campaigns.

it definately looks like film which aint cheap and i did read headlines stating VW were going to sue over it...but strangely seems to have died away now its less topical.
Just my opinion and thoughts of course

hey, now now. Being one of the blokes behind the VW thing I can assure they had nothing to do with it. In fact they were none to happy.
Myself and Lee and our lawyer sat with their lawyers and had a little chat.
as for virals, subservient chicken was pretty on the money

This one worked pretty well for Microsoft and their programmers and "developers, developers, developers, developers"

I dont beleive that the marketing people for VW werent happy.Maybe their 'published' view was aired as "not being happy".
If it had done any serious damage to their reputation that outweighed the publicity, headlines and attention it brought them then you's guys would be pennyless at the moment and paying them damages for the rest of your lifes ;)dont get me wrong im not slagging off what you's did - i thought it was awesome.
im bitching at the 2sided ness of large companies. one side for the media, and another for the boardroom and marketing peops.

I believe after nick picked his nose, all other viral campaigns 'are belong to him'
