I am thinking of visiting. I have heard some good things about the place. Anyone have any recommendations on what to do there? Trip Advisor didn't bring up many interesting entries.

it's a pretty cool city. i miss it now that i'm not there!
what kind of stuff are you into?
- jakeyj0
I'm in minneapolis. there's a couple other nt'ers here, jpea, jDs, joshclancy is from near here.

(Nov 9 05, 09:46)yeah! that's pretty much the main reason i wanted to move out of there! i think i'm going to miss the seasons though

how old are you?
there is tons to do:
the andy warhol opening at the walker art center this weekend should be fun - worth the trip alone.
i would recommend a night down at the king and i (thai food and djs, check out the stone arch bridge and new guthrie going up on the river front, a couple beers at bryant lake bowl - followed by last call at the red lantern on lyndale, shop for cds at the electric fetus ... for starters).
im happy to help with more recommendations.

i second the king and i! best thai food ever! #38 (or maybe #36) is my favorite meal.
also check out the kitty kat klub this saturday. a couple of my friends got a monthly thing there (heres an excerpt from an email i just got)
: Saturday 11/5 means Exploder! time at the Kitty Cat Klub.
Norton, Jon, Scott, and Adam flex their rippling record collections
for you with an awesome mix of post punk, funk, electronic, indie, and
pyschedelic tunage. see you there! -Norton Fortune

i was just up there for halloween and most of the leaves were still on the trees. that's kinda rare for this time of year. the colors were really nice.

What is it w/ Minneapolis music? So much good rock and roll from that city.
My all time favorites Bob Dylan and the Replacements, and some newer ones like small towns burn a little slower, chariots, the soviettes, atmosphere, P.O.S.Minneapolis is to '05 what Toronto was to '04

I'm 28. I'm into art, design, photo opps, local or ethnic food, skateboarding, landmarks, happening places.
I would kind of like to see happening bars, neighborhoods in a city case I ever wanted to move there.
Andy Warhol and the Thai place sound great.
Someone said on a different forum that the city has an attitude like Portland with more jobs.
- jakeyj0
if you're into skateboarding you definitely have to hit the 3 lair.
the happening neighborhood in minneapolis would be the uptown area. which is just south of downtown on hennepin and lake. tons of good eats, galleries, ect.
as for attitude - don't know really because I've lived here my whole life. but i'll just say it's pretty rare to hear someone honk their horn...
- seed0
I dig aesthetic apparatus too.
- spk0
yo yo .
when you coming up?
i can check the calendars... its a pretty fun town - you could just go to the nomad and then across the street to palmers for some serious minneapolis flavor - if you are into punkier type stuff - the triple rock social club is probably one of the sweetest clubs in the country for thrashier sounds and tatooed chicks.
yo lvl_13 hows so cal working out? new job cool?
- lvl_130
also in the uptown area:
http://www.robotlove.comnot sure about the attitude there. i also lived there my whole life (up until 3 months ago) and i would say people are generally laid back and nice (i am...i think : )
oh, also check out http://www.ox-op.com cool little gallery and a good bar in the front
