I like your website by the inspiration. Bit too much talking going on though and not much doing.

i agree with strangelove. Carson and Brodie were the ones pushing boundaries back then.
Their stuff was a big influence on my design experimentation at art college. Then came Tomato, AntiRom and Attik.Ah, those were the days....
Then came 45 degree corners and stretching pixel images and thats kinda stuck for the past 6 years. Exciting times, heh? :P

and trev .....
you sound like the lecturers at my art college that were 'old skool' typographers, obviously not carson fans or fans of doing anything different.
i just ignored them.
they were trying to get me to do traditional typography. fuck that! i felt i already had a very good knowledge of typography. art college is a time for experimentation.i think that carson did have a good knowledge of this traditional typography and he was just trying to push boundaries to piss people with your beliefs off and just to try new things and experiment.
we'd be still in the dark ages in this world if it wasnt for people who thought "i wonder what happens if i do this ......" rather than just conforming to what everyone else does.

look at what he's doing now. he clearly has a great grasp of graphic design/aesthetics...
experimenting for the sake of experimentation is great.. but its pointless if it cannot be applied to anything.

actually he was very good, he did several good things in his life and commissioned the vw beetle, the most popular and produced car in historyhowever killing millions of people as well overshadowed several of his accomplishments
