I think this could mean 3 things.
a) the Jr Designer is not ready to start working, but then he shouln't be called Jr Designer.
b) You guys just don't see each other eye to eye, or worst you have no chemistry to work toghether.
c) You migt not be ready to start managing other people,
Read up on how to improve it, and talk to other people that have more experience.Hope that helps!

i've managed other designers. it was a lot easier. he's been here for a month now. i expect him to know the inner working and our design standard.

Are they doing their own versions instead of what you say or are they just donkeys?To be honest Junior Designer is also known as "not good yet and need a senior designer and art director above me to correct my many mistakes but dont worry i wont make them in a couple months...plus im really scared cause i just got out of school where I was the shit and everyone else sucked and now Im the one that sucks and whats worse is my boss keeps telling me no no no which makes me not know how to design."
