doesn't a jr. designer have atleast 2 years experience?
I have an intern which makes for a similar situation, but she's hot so I don't mind being helpful.

damn!
no, eddie, that'll be the worst idea ever!
i basically babysit him and have to check everything everything.
i need to make him a bit more independent.

i wish i had a hot intern instead. that'll make me very very helpful.

yeah, if it was a hot intern.
i will tell her that.
i already told him my expectation. he's not getting it. i have make him do it over and over which is taking so much time. things i can do in 2hrs will take him 2days.
argh!!!

well... speaking as a junior product designer...
it would be more helpfull if you gave me/us/him/her a specific task and dont leave work so open-ended. in most cases we are just trying to fit in and help where we can. hell if you dont know what else to do... load us up with busy work or give us a big project and tell them dont ask questions but instead use the resources they have available. my thoughts ...for what its worth (not much) :)

it's tough. I was doing the same with two programmers here as a Jr. Project Manager.
monkeys, I tell you, but I was the same way
moot, I'm outta' here

Show us the intern!
- swollenelbow0
that sucks dude...do you have a manager to report this to? why would they hire someone that isn't up to par?
- bauts1060
Unforetunately, most of you art directors don't have the first clue on how to relate to someone. A lot of times I see AD's hire someone on and expect them to know the innerworkings of every nook and cranny of a company, and thats just impossible. You can't learn that your first week at a new job. Also...and this is very important...STOP HOVERING!!! No one can get work done with some jerk over their shoulder going "no no..." after every mouse click. Sit down, have a 15 minute meeting, assign some work for the day/week...and your done. Stop compalining, I'm sure your getting paid twice as much as the Jr.
