I finally have my powerbook fixed and would like to have it be basically a copy of my tower from home. Are there apps out there that can make the transfer and have the ability to deselect certain folders like my "music" folder as an example. I tried the copy and paste but I think there may be a better way. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

think he means burn it all, right jaz?
worked for me...external firewire backup is always a good idea. you back everything up to that then transfer to new computer, but keep the backup.

You should be able to just run a firewire cable from one machine to the other and copy all the files you want onto the other machine.

there is some sort of way to do an image or mirror or something, on a mac.
where it brings everything over, settings, prefs, programs, users, everything...
just don't know where it is

The set up assistant might help you import all the settings, etc.

I think you are best to do system and setting seperately... but you can keep docs and stuff in sync using Retrospect scheduled Duplicate (excluding and including the bits you want), or setup a scheduled Mirror synch of specific folders using an FTP program. Synchronize Pro and Carbon Copy Cloner do this too?
