I am very confused t why anyone needs a handgun. Then again, that confusion comes from someone who has lost a friend at the hands of a handgun. However, I do believe in hunting weapons such as .306, .308 or a shotgun.
I think it is a sociologogical thing, where people know that others have them, so they need one. Keeping up with the jones'.
