So when you buy a gun in the US, shooting lessons aren't compulsory?

I knew a cop who told me if it made you feel safer to buy one, get a license, learn how to use it properly. Guns scare the eff outta me I'd never own one, but theres been a few random murders in my neighborhood lately and tons of creeps lurking everywhere, I might invest in a nice baseball bat. The cop also told me if you need to use it, all you should have to do is fire it, just shoot it and start running, don't get into a shootout or anything. Be careful man.

also. do you want a revolver or a clip loading gun?
a six shooter or an 18 shooter?
what are you using it for? self defense in case of an emergency or do you want to take it to the range whenever and shoot.
if it is just to keep by the bedside in a 'just in case' scenario go with a six shooter. get the .38.
also. if heaven forbid you do ever run into an intruder at 3am shoot him in the head and unload the gun on his ass. if you don't the same guy who broke into your house to kill you will sue you for shooting him. yay for the system.

Exactly... cause it gives them muscles- oh the manly wisdom of hiding in the brush and killing an animal- oh the courage, the strength...

I'd recommend one that shoots a bouquet of flowers. Perhaps a mixed spring wildflower variety.
