I'm having a hard time deciding which one to go with (there's a slight difference between 'em):

I've been looking at it for so long... kinda losing perspective on the whole thing. Should I just start over?

top one for sure
since it's an airline, you want it to look less weighty than the bottom one, yes? ive also been told to avoid red in airlines, but northwest uses red now, dont they? also, dont make your planes point down.

I like the bottom one, looks like two wings instead of a shadow.

*I'm starting to lean towards the bottom one. To me, it actually looks lighter and more elegant than the top one.
Speaking of the Northwest logo... if you don't look at it right, it looks like the red arrow is pointing down (not in the NW direction). Very bad logo, IMO.

im changing my vote to the second. doesnt really look like it's going down to me anymore. looks more thought out than the top, which is just a drop shadow.

top one without any doubt..
the shadow above the logo looks REALLY awkward..
with the shadow below it flows nicely with the suggested motion in the mark.
as a small 1C print (bcard size) the shadow below will punch those wing curves nice.
the gradient also looks better with the heavier bottom.

i like the second. it loks more like a pair of wings than a shadow, but still portrays depth.
